Job Overview:

We are in need of a skilled and committed Surgical Technologist to become a part of our surgical team in Reno, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have the responsibility to assist in surgical operations, prepare operating rooms, arrange equipment, and assist doctors during surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make sure that all necessary equipment and tools are sterile and in place in order to prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
  • Support surgeons during operations by providing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
  • Maintain and monitor the sterility of the operating environment to ensure the safety of the patient.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them on the operating table and covering them with sterile drapes.
  • Handle collected specimens during surgery for laboratory analysis.
  • Sanitize and restock the operating room after procedures, ensuring that all equipment is properly stored and sanitized.
  • Work effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to provide the best possible care for the patient.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
  • Possessing 1-2 years of experience in an operating room environment is a plus, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Having a strong attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
