Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager
A rapidly growing company located in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to join their team.
As the Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, you will report to the Senior Manager of External Reporting and be responsible for providing expert knowledge on technical accounting matters, including the implementation of new accounting standards and the application of accounting guidance related to revenue recognition, leases, and significant transactions.
The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced professional from a reputable accounting firm, such as the Big 4, who is looking to transition to a managerial position. Alternatively, individuals with prior technical accounting and financial reporting experience in a publicly traded company will also be considered.
Competitive salary of up to $150K plus bonus.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze technical accounting matters to support the Company’s accounting positions and prepare comprehensive reports
- Collaborate with various departments in the corporate office and operational regions to stay informed about developments that could impact the Company’s financial statements
- Monitor and review regulations proposed by authoritative bodies such as the FASB and SEC that may impact the Company’s financial reporting
- Maintain and update the Company’s accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
- Assist in the review and preparation of the Company’s SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy statements
- Conduct analysis of financial filings from peer companies to incorporate best practices into the Company’s financial reporting
- Manage the accounting procedures for the Company’s leases in accordance with ASC 842
- Oversee controls related to the financial reporting process and collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the leadership team
Background Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Active CPA license
- 6+ years of relevant experience in technical accounting and financial reporting
- Prior experience in public accounting, working for reputable firms or previous involvement in technical accounting for publicly traded companies
