Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager
An expanding, publicly traded organization based in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of External Reporting, you will serve as a knowledgeable resource on technical accounting matters. This includes staying up-to-date on new accounting pronouncements and applying accounting guidance pertaining to revenue recognition, leases, and significant transactions such as debt and equity financing, as well as business combinations/mergers and acquisitions.
The ideal candidate(s) for this position will have experience as a senior at a Big 4 or large national accounting firm and is prepared to take on a managerial role. Alternatively, candidates with a technical accounting and financial reporting background in a publicly traded company will also be considered.
Salary up to $150K plus bonus.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft memos addressing technical accounting matters to support the company's accounting positions.
- Collaborate with various departments at both the corporate office and operational regions to remain updated on developments that may impact the company's financial statements.
- Contribute to the review of existing and proposed regulations from the FASB, SEC, and other authoritative bodies that influence financial reporting or accounting matters impacting the company.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the company's accounting policies.
- Participate in the review and preparation of the company's SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy statements.
- Analyze financial filings of peer companies to incorporate best practices into the company's financial reporting.
- Manage the accounting for the company's leases under ASC 842.
- Manage and oversee controls related to the financial reporting process, and assist both internal and external auditors with audit requests.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested by leadership.
Background Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
- Previous experience in public accounting with a focus on audit or accounting advisory, or prior experience in technical accounting for a publicly traded company.
