Technical Sales Rep – Analytical Instruments (Portland, OR) 1559

Location: Portland, OR

Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for selling a range of analytical instruments, including Density and viscosity, refractometry measurement instruments. Your sales territory encompasses Oregon, Washington, and Northern California. While it is ideal for candidates to be located near Portland, other major cities within the territory may also be considered.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $70,000 to $79,400 per year, depending on experience in capital equipment sales, with a preference for specific industry experience. The commission plan is uncapped and pays monthly from the first dollar, with additional bonuses for exceeding sales targets. Our client also provides a monthly car allowance and mileage reimbursement, full benefits, profit sharing bonuses, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and develop new accounts, as well as effectively manage existing accounts.
  • Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences, including C-suite executives, production managers, and technicians.
  • Qualify opportunities, develop proposals, and successfully close business deals.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in sales of capital equipment or analytical instruments.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in natural sciences or engineering.
  • Must be available for frequent overnight travel, up to 75% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license and passport required.
