Our client is currently seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their team in the Chicago area. As the Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for selling a range of Mechanical Surface Characterization Instruments throughout the Midwestern states. These instruments include Nano-Indentation, Scratch testing, and Tribology. While the ideal candidate will be located near Chicago, other locations near major airports will be considered.

The salary for this position ranges from $92,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to the base salary, there is an uncapped commission plan that pays monthly, starting from the first dollar. The commission plan accelerates after reaching the sales goal. Our client also offers a comprehensive benefits package, profit sharing bonuses, a monthly car allowance and mileage reimbursement. On top of that, there is a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years. There is also a sign-on bonus opportunity available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Identifying and cultivating new accounts, as well as effectively managing existing accounts.
• Delivering presentations to both small and large audiences, including C-suite executives, production managers, and technicians.
• Evaluating opportunities, developing proposals, and successfully closing business deals.

The skills and qualifications you will need for this position:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in capital equipment sales, with a preference for experience in analytical instruments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities.
• The ability to work independently, with a strong dedication to customer satisfaction.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a natural science or engineering field.
• The availability for frequent overnight travel, which may account for up to 75% of the time.
• A valid driver's license and passport.
