Technical Sales Rep – Process Instrumentation (Houston) 1627

Location: Houston, TX
Our client is a global leader in laboratory equipment and services, and is currently seeking a Process Instrumentation Sales Representative to join their dynamic team in the Houston area. This role will be responsible for driving business growth for Process Instrumentation in the TX, OK, LA, AR, and MS regions. While the ideal location is Houston, other major cities within the territory will be considered.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $78,000 to $88,200 per year. In addition to the base salary, there is an uncapped commission plan that pays monthly from the first dollar and includes bonuses for exceeding targets. Our client also offers full benefits, a profit sharing contribution to your 401k, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new accounts while effectively managing existing accounts
  • Deliver engaging presentations to a variety of audiences, including C-level executives, production managers, and technicians
  • Qualify opportunities, develop proposals, and successfully close business deals
  • Travel up to 50-60% for meetings, demonstrations, and installations (which may include overnight stays)

Skills and qualifications:

  • Prior experience in technical sales, with a strong emphasis on process instrumentation
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Bachelor's degree in a natural sciences or engineering field preferred
  • Valid driver's license and passport required
