Title Manager

Position: Land Title Manager

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled individual to join their team as a Land Title Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Land Administration team and overseeing all aspects of land title operations. Your main focus will be ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of processes related to land title. We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of oil and gas title law, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This position is based at our client's office in Morgantown, WV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership in Title Processing: You will be overseeing the Land Administration team to ensure that title processing is accurate, timely, and efficient.
  • Management of Specialized Title Projects: As the Land Title Manager, you will be responsible for managing special title review projects assigned by the Land Department.
  • Collaboration with Vendors: You will work closely with external title firms and land service companies to effectively meet the title needs of the Land Department and Operations.
  • Oversight of Title Order Process: Your role will involve supervising the entire title order process, including initiation, review, approval, and tracking.
  • Management of Curative Process: You will be responsible for directing the resolution of title issues to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence for acquisitions to verify title accuracy and land records.
  • Team Development: As the Land Title Manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing team members, providing regular performance evaluations, and fostering professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Juris Doctor (JD) degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas land title management.
  • In-depth understanding of oil and gas title law, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with title research software and databases.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional approach to working with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
