Vascular Technologist

Location: Minneapolis, MN

We are seeking a Vascular Sonographer to contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of vascular patients. In this role, you will provide clinically relevant information to support physicians, following the highest professional standards and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vascular ultrasound examinations for the detection and management of vascular diseases
  • Utilize sonography equipment to capture images of blood vessels and evaluate blood flow
  • Record and analyze patient's medical history and vital signs
  • Maintain a sterile environment during procedures using aseptic techniques
  • Demonstrate proficiency in human anatomy and physiology to accurately assess vascular structures
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide diagnostic evaluations and interpretations of results
  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment following infectious disease protocols
  • Perform diagnostic sonography examinations as ordered, ensuring patient safety and adherence to professional protocols
  • Apply critical thinking skills to ensure quality sonography procedures and accurate examination images
  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging when necessary for optimum diagnostic results
  • Document any limitations to the sonography examination
  • Adhere to accreditation requirements, including quality assurance reviews
  • Review examination images and prepare preliminary reports for providers
  • Ensure complete and accurate reports with all billing requirements
  • Perform quality control procedures and manage preventive maintenance for ultrasound equipment
  • Assist in the daily operation of the sonography facility
  • Prioritize work based on workflow fluctuations
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ultrasound program or formal training program
  • Preferred certification as RVT or RVS
  • Preferably BLS certified
  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required and must provide)
  • Minimum of [2] years of experience as a Vascular Technologist or in a similar role
  • Proficient in performing various vascular ultrasound examinations, including carotid, venous, arterial, and abdominal studies
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to vascular diseases and procedures
  • Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques and protocols
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

Shifts:

Evening shift – 3:30pm to midnight, Monday through Friday

Weekend day shift – 7:00am to 7:00pm Saturday and Sunday

Weekend night shift – 7:00pm to 7:00am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Weeknight Call: Starts at 5:00 PM and ends at 7:30 AM the next morning.

Weekend Call: Starts Friday at 5:00 PM and ends Monday at 730 AM.
