Vice President of Sales – Foodservice Industry

A dynamic and strategic Vice President of Sales is sought to lead a national foodservice sales organization. This executive will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, developing sales strategy, and fostering innovation across multiple sales channels including Independent Street, National Accounts, Ingredient, and International.

Reporting to the President, the Vice President will oversee a team of seven, including a Senior Director, Territory Managers, and Sales Operations staff. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a General Manager mindset and deep experience in the foodservice sector, distribution channels, and national accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual and five-year sales strategies aligned with overall company goals.

  • Drive growth through new business development and strategic channel expansion while preserving margin integrity.

  • Lead the team in implementing effective sales plans and performance tracking systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Finance, R&D, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Operations to align sales objectives with broader organizational goals.

  • Implement tools and best practices to manage sales opportunities, forecast outcomes, and communicate progress.

Revenue Generation & Market Development

  • Contribute to long-term growth initiatives, including product launches, new channel development, and strategic acquisitions.

  • Oversee RFPs and multiyear operator agreements with a focus on maximizing profitability.

  • Identify emerging market opportunities and allocate resources to high-potential accounts.

Customer & Relationship Management

  • Cultivate high-level relationships with distributors and operators, ensuring alignment at all key functional levels.

  • Establish a structured communication and pricing management process to uphold efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in foodservice sales.

  • Proven track record managing large accounts, contract negotiations, and strategic planning.

  • P&L responsibility and strong commercial acumen.

  • Demonstrated success in developing high-performing teams.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce and MS Office Suite; experience with Navision is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a standing or seated position for extended periods.
