VP of Operations
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER (COO):
As the leader of operations, you will be responsible for overseeing senior operations, financial planning, and resource allocation for inbound and outbound warehouse operations, fleet services, facilities management (building, property, maintenance, security, sanitation), transportation (routing, delivery, logistics, and backhaul management), and equipment maintenance.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the President of the company, you will manage and provide direction to the Operations Department staff, ensuring achievement of performance metrics, effective expense management, revenue generation, and compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the President of the company, you will manage and provide direction to the Operations Department staff, ensuring achievement of performance metrics, effective expense management, revenue generation, and compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Inspire, support, and lead the operations leadership team and front-line associates
- Analyze facility size, storage, shipping, and receiving capabilities to proactively plan and direct business operations for future growth
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies' requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT, FDA, USDA, DOL)
- Oversee maintenance activities of the warehouse, fleet services, equipment, ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC systems, fire protection, and office to prevent accidents, damage/loss, and unnecessary costs
- Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions to business operations during emergencies
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Procurement to address customer or delivery issues, visiting customers on-site when necessary
- Continuously improve operational strategies and processes based on industry knowledge
- Create and manage the budget, including labor costs, materials, goods and services, capital investments, maintenance and repair, and third-party contracts
- Drive operational performance to meet or exceed financial targets
- Work with Procurement to optimize inventory processes and cash flow while maintaining high customer service levels
- Support other departments in achieving their financial and service goals
- Participate in meetings and activities to build customer relations and assist in securing new business
- Prioritize and champion safety for all associates, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations and work to create a positive employee experience
- Perform other assigned duties as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of 10 years of experience
