Water Resources Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our dynamic water resources team.

Our team collaborates with various stakeholders including private land developers, corporations, municipalities, and transportation agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects with different clients across multiple offices within the company. Every employee will have the chance to contribute their expertise and skills to projects where they are needed.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for supporting various projects by undertaking a range of tasks related to water resources. These tasks may include hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management and drainage design, erosion and sediment control design, flood studies, bridge hydraulics and scour analysis, and plan and report preparation.

Our client is currently seeking a Water Resources/H&H Engineer with the following responsibilities:

  • Support H&H, ES&C, drainage, and SWM tasks for projects across the Mid-Atlantic region, with a focus on Pennsylvania and potential design work in surrounding states.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and clients to develop and design projects.
  • Prepare project plans, technical reports, quantities, and specifications. Possibility of managing tasks/projects scope, schedule, and budget for those aspiring for task or project management.
  • Occasionally perform field data collection and site visits.
  • Engage in diversified projects and assignments with different clients.

Required Attributes:

  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • Preferred Licenses: FE/EIT, PE
  • Work Experience: 5-12 years in water resources engineering.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic/hydraulic (H&H) modeling, floodplain management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, erosion and sediment control design, drainage design, stormwater management design, plan review, and plan and report preparation.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, and Watershed Modeling System.
  • Strong preference for experience in plan production using AutoCAD and MicroStation, including 3D modeling.
  • Experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, and/or DCDOT will be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for preparing project reports, specifications, studies, and engineering documents.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Computer Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, Watershed Modeling System, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range - $85k to $135k - salary is negotiable.
