Location: Southwest Suburban Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day Shift)

As part of a growing team, the Welding / Maintenance Technician will play a key role in equipment and facility maintenance, performing welding repairs and supporting plant operations.
Position Summary
This role focuses on the maintenance and repair of welding equipment and plant facilities. The technician is responsible for performing weld repairs safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal equipment functionality. This hands-on position involves various welding techniques, fabrication tasks, and equipment diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Level I
-
Perform Arc, MIG, and TIG welding in all positions

Select appropriate materials (rods, wires, gases) for each weld type
-
Operate cutting tools such as oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and saws

Follow basic fabrication instructions using supplied prints
-
Maintain safe work practices around equipment and personnel
Level II (Includes Level I duties)

Independently select welding materials and adjust settings for optimal performance
-
Set up cutting tools with minimal instruction to minimize material distortion
-
Perform fabrication with minimal guidance using provided blueprints
-
Evaluate work environments to ensure safety for both self and surrounding personnel
Level III (Includes Level I & II duties)

Certified in Arc, MIG, and TIG welding in all positions
-
Expertly set up cutting tools without instruction
-
Perform advanced fabrication independently, including reading and supplying own prints (may include basic machining)

Provide proactive safety assessments and implement safety improvements
Education & Experience Requirements
-
Level I: High school diploma or GED, plus 1–2 years of relevant experience or training

Level II: High school diploma or GED, plus 2–4 years of related experience
-
Level III: Technical certifications or associate degree preferred, plus 6–8 years of experience in welding/maintenance

Valid welding certification issued by a certified welding inspector is required (in-hand or on file)
Skills & Abilities

Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

Write clear reports and routine correspondence

Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide using fractions and decimals)

Identify and solve problems, analyze data, and draw accurate conclusions
Physical Requirements

Regular use of hands, tools, and verbal communication

Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and reaching

Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs occasionally
