Western US Regional Sales Manager – Food

Job Title: Western US Regional Food Sales Manager

Location: Reno, NV

Remote / Reside in CA, NV, AZ.

We are a leading manufacturer of frozen, high-quality and all-natural sweet and savory flavors, purees, concentrates, and blends. Our products are sold through a network of distributors to various establishments such as restaurants, resorts and hotels, bars, cruise lines, and specialty gourmet manufacturers.

Responsibilities:

As the Western US Regional Food Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing strong relationships with our 30+ food distributors across 19 states in the Western US, with a primary focus on CA, NV, and AZ. Your key objectives will include growing market share, ensuring customer satisfaction, exceeding sales and profitability goals defined by the company, and overseeing the work of 1 Sales Representative.

You will actively identify lucrative opportunities within distributor accounts, monitor market trends, develop strategies to improve service and sales, and capitalize on new opportunities using a variety of resources such as sales reporting, online research, and event leads. Additionally, you will utilize CRM software to effectively track and manage customer engagement.

Working closely with the Director of Sales, you will review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual sales data for the region, providing valuable insights and contributing to the development of the annual budget. You will also collaborate on communication strategies to address operational support needs effectively.

Qualifications / Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • BA/BS degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food sales, specifically selling to foodservice distributors.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Excel on a daily basis.
  • Ability to create and utilize 30/60/90-day planning.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, sales reporting, product training, and trade show planning.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 50% of the time, including airport accessibility.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive base salary of $90-95K, complemented by a 20% bi-annual bonus. Additionally, we provide excellent benefits including 100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Our package also includes an EAP program, 401K plan, profit sharing of approximately 12% annually, 11 paid holidays, generous vacation time, company laptop with a docking station, cell phone, and company credit card. Mileage reimbursement is also provided.
