Project Assistant

Project Assistant
Location: Newtown, CT

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Assistant to support electrical construction projects from initiation through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities while supporting project teams, vendors, and clients.


Must-Have Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in construction or electrical project support
  • Experience with project scheduling, coordination, or project management tools
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Self-starter with high energy and strong organizational skills

What You’ll Do

Project Coordination & Support

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination across all project phases
  • Assist with labor projections, scheduling, and commitments
  • Track project deliverables and ensure timely completion

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare, submit, and track RFIs, submittals, and project logs
  • Upload, edit, and distribute project data and shop drawings
  • Maintain accurate documentation across internal systems and customer platforms
  • Take and distribute detailed meeting minutes

Scheduling & Planning

  • Assist with project schedule updates and communicate changes
  • Distribute short-interval and master project schedules
  • Identify long lead items and critical path activities

Vendor & Client Coordination

  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project scope
  • Distribute approved product data and assist with procurement releases
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders

Change Orders & Quality Tracking

  • Assist in change order pricing and proposal development
  • Track project issues, escalate risks, and ensure quality compliance
  • Support coordination to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software
  • Associate’s degree or vocational training in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction
  • OSHA 30 Construction certification
