Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration Technician
Location: Greater Charleston, SC
Employment Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Compensation: $32.50 – $44.00/hour (DOE + Certifications) + Bonus

Industrial Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Commercial/Industrial Refrigeration, including Chillers, Walk-in Coolers/Freezers, and Industrial Ice Machines.

System Proficiency: Direct experience with Daikin, Thermo King, Carrier, and/or Trane commercial-grade systems.

Technical Mastery: Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical and refrigeration schematics.

Operational Skills: Proven experience in pre-testing, commissioning, and preventative maintenance for heavy-duty cooling fleets.

Licensing: Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

Physicality: Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

EPA Certification: Section 608/609 (Type II or Universal preferred).

Industry Focus: Background in Industrial HVAC/R or Large-Scale Cold Storage environments.
Position Overview
We are seeking a high-level Refrigeration Technician to lead the maintenance, commissioning, and technical oversight of our commercial rental fleet. This is not a standard automotive AC role; we are looking for a specialist capable of managing industrial-scale cooling solutions, including trailer-mounted chillers and large walk-in units.
This role blends hands-on technical mastery with a leadership mindset. You will coordinate with service vendors, prioritize high-stakes repair work, and ensure our industrial fleet meets the rigorous demands of our commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial System Maintenance

Perform full-scale commissioning and pre-testing on industrial refrigeration units and chillers.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex systems from Daikin, Thermo King, Carrier, and Trane.

Diagnose sophisticated mechanical and electrical failures using precision gauges and diagnostic software.

Interpret detailed schematics to ensure all repairs meet industrial safety and performance standards.
Vendor & Project Coordination

Manage and prioritize repair schedules for third-party service vendors and internal teams.

Provide technical "subject matter expertise" and training to vendors to ensure brand-standard quality.

Identify and document warrantable repairs, ensuring all technical findings are captured accurately.
Operational Safety

Maintain a "Safety First" environment, ensuring all tools, precision instruments, and workspaces are organized and compliant.

Support large-scale preventative maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime for our rental partners.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, climb, and work at heights in various weather conditions.

Frequent lifting of 50 lbs (up to 100 lbs occasionally).

Comfort working in non-climate-controlled industrial environments.
