Longmont, CO
A research and development organization specializing in advanced antenna technologies for Department of Defense and commercial/civil space applications is seeking a Senior Radio Frequency Engineer to lead active electronically steered antenna (AESA) development programs. Core focus areas include tactical radar systems, satellite communications, millimeter-wave antennas, and large space-deployable antenna structures. The role provides technical ownership of RF system design, simulation, integration, and testing. The facility includes a 20 foot by 30 foot robotic near-field antenna range supporting automated testing of antennas, radomes, and radar cross-section measurements.
Schedule Full time, onsite, located in Colorado.
Compensation $120,000 - $170,000 Per Year
What You'll Do You will lead AESA development programs with technical ownership across RF system design, simulation, integration, and testing. You will perform full-wave electromagnetic modeling and simulation using CST or similar tools, design and test active RF networks, and select and integrate active components such as amplifiers, switches, and phase shifters into PCB assemblies.
You will conduct Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) calibration, measurement, and data evaluation, and execute antenna testing and post-processing using both far-field and near-field methods. You will design multilayer RF PCB transitions and support overall PCB layout, and perform system-level analysis and testing for radar and communication systems.
You will prepare detailed technical reports, analysis summaries, and presentations, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to supporting design and test engineering personnel.
