This manufacturer based in Winter Haven, Florida, is seeking a Plant Environmental Engineer to join its Environmental Health and Safety team at a 200-employee production facility. The position reports directly to the site EHS Manager and carries day-to-day responsibility for environmental compliance across plant operations. This is a hands-on, site-level role suited to an environmental professional who is ready to take ownership of compliance programs and grow within a global organization.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 Per Year
What You'll Do
As the Plant Environmental Engineer, you will manage daily compliance activities across the facility's environmental programs. You will monitor and maintain regulatory requirements related to air quality, including baghouse operations and Title V air permit obligations, and oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management programs in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations.
You will coordinate environmental permitting activities with Florida state agencies and serve as a point of contact for regulatory inspections and agency correspondence. Working alongside the site EHS Manager, you will identify compliance gaps, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate environmental records and reporting documentation.
Beyond compliance, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support employee environmental awareness, and help develop and update site-specific environmental procedures and training materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- 2 or more years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant setting
- Working knowledge of federal environmental regulations including Clean Air Act, RCRA, and applicable EPA requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple compliance priorities and regulatory deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory correspondence and internal reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Title V air permitting and baghouse operations
- Familiarity with hazardous waste management and manifesting procedures
- Experience with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) permitting processes
- Background in developing or delivering environmental training programs
- Proficiency with environmental data management or compliance tracking software
