PACU Charge Nurse

Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 per year

This hospital system serves over 250,000 residents across 17 counties in Montana and is hiring a full time Charge Nurse for its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) perioperative leadership team. This role oversees patient flow across Pre-Op and PACU, leads shift level operations, and provides clinical direction to the Pre-Op/PACU nursing team.

Schedule: Full time, on site, clinical leadership shift.

Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 per year, based on documented years of clinical and leadership experience.

What You'll Do:
This Charge Nurse will oversee and optimize daily patient flow across both Pre-Operative and PACU clinical areas, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for surgical patients from admission through phase II recovery. As primary shift leader, this person will manage real time staffing assignments, surgical schedule adjustments, and daily operational problem solving, while ensuring clinical staff adhere to patient safety standards and documentation requirements aligned with CPAN/ASPAN guidelines. This role works in daily collaboration with the PACU Supervisor and maintains working relationships with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and allied health staff, and provides clinical direction, mentorship, and support to the Pre-Op/PACU nursing and support team.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana, or immediate eligibility for compact/endorsement licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience within a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Strong working knowledge of asepsis principles and CPAN guidelines for perioperative practice

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• CPAN or ASPAN national certification
• Previous experience as a Charge Nurse or in a clinical leadership role
• Critical Care (ICU) nursing background
