CMM Programmer – Quality & Inspection
CMM Programmer
Skokie, IL (On-site)
This stable manufacturer serving both commercial and defense markets is adding a CMM Programmer to a close-knit quality team. The facility runs Brown and Sharpe DCC CMMs across three models using PC-DMIS. Existing programs are in place but need operator-friendly revisions, and new programs will be developed as production demands grow.
Schedule
1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Up to 15 hours of optional overtime per week available.
Compensation
$30 to $40 per hour, plus optional overtime.
What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on, fully onsite role covering first-piece inspections, incoming vendor checks, and full assembly evaluations. The CMM Programmer writes, revises, and maintains CMM programs in PC-DMIS across multiple Brown and Sharpe DCC units, performs first-piece inspections on CNC machining setups and incoming vendor parts, and conducts full assembly inspections, including GD&T evaluation on complex components.
This role revises existing programs to improve operator usability and efficiency, and evaluates current CMM equipment to provide recommendations on controller upgrades as needed. As the team expands, the CMM Programmer will also take on a training role with incoming CMM operators, operating CMMs directly until additional operators are onboarded. This position troubleshoots programming and inspection issues, communicates findings to quality and production teams, and maintains accurate inspection records and documentation.
