Naperville, IL (Hybrid/Field-Based)
Compensation: $120,000 to $140,000 base, plus commission (total compensation $150,000 to $200,000+)

This well-established industrial manufacturer, known for a premium domestic product line, is seeking a field-based Senior Account Executive to take ownership of a defined territory in the greater Joliet, IL and southwest suburbs area. The territory comes with an existing account base concentrated in process industry accounts and room to grow. This is a business development role, not an order-taking position; inside sales, application engineers, and customer service handle back-office work so this role can stay focused on customer-facing new business development.

Schedule
Hybrid and field-based. Candidates must reside in the greater Chicago area to support territory coverage.

Compensation
$120,000 to $140,000 base, plus commission. Total compensation $150,000 to $200,000+, with no cap on earnings.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Account Executive takes full ownership of an assigned territory with a concentration of process industry accounts, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with chemical plants, refineries, oil and gas facilities, and industrial manufacturers. This role conducts regular customer visits, needs assessments, and business reviews with key decision makers, and grows wallet share within existing accounts by uncovering additional applications and opportunities.

This position coordinates with inside sales, application engineers, and customer service to deliver a smooth customer experience, and maintains an accurate pipeline with consistent activity tracking and forecasting. The Senior Account Executive represents the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer functions as needed, and stays current on competitive activity, industry trends, and evolving customer needs within the territory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Operations, or a related field

  • 2+ years of outside B2B industrial sales experience

  • Comfortable working in plant and refinery settings, including PPE requirements and large industrial facilities

  • Proven ability to develop new business and expand existing relationships

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to communicate technical value to end users

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Process industry background, including oil and gas, chemical, or refining environments

  • Ability to read technical drawings and P&IDs

  • Experience selling a premium product at a price premium

Compensation and Benefits
