Engineering Manager
Kansas City, MO | Full Time

This is a privately held manufacturing company in Kansas City, Missouri with an established proprietary product line alongside its core business, known for an engineering driven culture and a reputation for quality. This Engineering Manager role reports directly to company leadership.

Schedule
Full time, on site, with occasional travel (roughly 15% or less) for trade shows and on site customer technical support.

Compensation
$110,000 to $140,000 per year, based on experience and team management history.

What You’ll Do
This Engineering Manager owns end to end product design, R&D, and testing for the company’s proprietary product line, from initial concept through launch and ongoing customer support, doing hands on design work in addition to guiding a small team of engineers. This person serves as the technical point of contact between sales, customers, and manufacturing on customer applications and custom configurations, and manages and mentors a small engineering team, with plans to grow the team based on this person’s input. The role also supports ERP processes including BOM accuracy, drawing control, and inventory data used by purchasing, and involves balancing multiple concurrent projects rather than working single, long duration assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical or related)

• Strong, current, hands on proficiency in SOLIDWORKS

• Track record of hands on product design work combined with managing or mentoring other engineers

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously

• Self directed work style, able to bring solutions independently with minimal day to day supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a proprietary or engineered product manufacturing environment

• Experience supporting ERP systems, including BOM accuracy and drawing control

• Experience serving as a technical liaison between engineering, sales, and manufacturing

Compensation and Benefits

• $110,000 to $140,000 per year, based on experience and team management history
