Commercial Construction Superintendent - Education Sector

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent on ground-up projects ($10M–$30M+)
• Proven experience managing projects from startup through completion
• Experience with K-12 and/or University (Higher Education) construction projects
• Strong leadership experience managing subcontractors, site teams, and daily field operations
• Solid understanding of scheduling, cost control, safety, and quality standards
• Familiarity with local building codes and subcontractor network in the Memphis/Jackson area preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and daily operations on assigned projects
• Develop and manage project schedules, sequencing, and site logistics
• Maintain strict adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company procedures
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Monitor progress, resolve field issues, and proactively address risks or delays
• Ensure effective communication across all teams, including clients and vendors

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience specifically in K-12 or Higher Education construction projects
• Strong relationships with local subcontractors and knowledge of Memphis-area construction practices
