A multi-billion-dollar healthcare organization is hiring an Infectious Disease Physician for its outpatient clinic in West Los Angeles. This is a direct hire, on-site role serving a mission-driven patient population, with no nights or weekends required.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site only. No nights or weekends. Some after-hours on-call coverage as assigned.
Compensation
$290,000 to $320,000 base salary, plus sign-on bonus, quarterly bonus, retention bonus, and productivity-based bonuses tied to patient visit volume. 401(k) and full benefits package included. Relocation assistance available for out-of-state candidates.
What You'll Do
This role delivers outpatient primary and infectious disease care, managing a caseload of approximately 14 to 18 patients per day. Clinical responsibilities include managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, hyperlipidemia, and COPD, alongside acute and infectious conditions including HIV, STIs, UTIs, respiratory illnesses, and infections. The physician reviews consultant reports, imaging, and lab results promptly, processes prescription renewals within 72 hours, and completes documentation, including accurate E&M billing codes, the same day of the visit or within 72 hours.
This position collaborates closely with front desk staff, care coordinators, and nursing staff to manage scheduling, minimize no-shows, and support urgent care and walk-in patients. The physician supervises mid-level providers, including PAs and NPs, and conducts chart reviews or audits as legally required. The role also includes patient retention support, such as preparing retention summaries, and provides after-hours on-call coverage as assigned. Full-time physicians receive 4 hours of protected administrative time per week.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active California medical license
- Valid DEA registration and California Furnishing License
- 2+ years of outpatient primary care or infectious disease experience
- Ability to manage 14 to 18 patients daily in a supported clinical environment
- AAHIVM certification required within 18 months of start date
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to interpret clinical, legal, and technical information
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification in Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Prior experience supervising mid-level providers (PAs, NPs)
- Experience in a high-volume outpatient clinic setting
