Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling active personal injury litigation in Michigan courts. This position is ideal for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment, understands plaintiff-side personal injury law, and is highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
· Provide administrative and litigation support throughout the life of personal injury cases.
· Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents.
· Prepare and electronically file documents using Michigan court e-filing systems.
· Monitor litigation deadlines, scheduling orders, statutes of limitation, and court calendars.
· Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, facilitations, case evaluations, and court appearances.
· Assist with all phases of discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests to admit, subpoenas, and medical record subpoenas.
· Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, experts, and court personnel.
· Organize and maintain medical records, exhibits, pleadings, and litigation files.
· Prepare litigation binders, deposition materials, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks.
· Assist attorneys with mediation, facilitation, case evaluation, and trial preparation.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant, preferably in plaintiff-side personal injury.
· Strong knowledge of Michigan court rules and e-filing procedures.
· Experience managing litigation calendars and court deadlines.
· Familiarity with the discovery process and litigation document preparation.
