Plant Engineer

Industrial Engineer
Minneapolis, MN (HYBRID REMOTE)
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year + Full Benefits + Bonus

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Industrial Engineer to join our team. As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects, providing technical guidance, and improving the operation, maintenance, and overall efficiency of our facility. This includes overseeing capital projects, coordinating maintenance tasks, and implementing facility upgrades during scheduled downtime. Your expertise will contribute to the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize established project management techniques to oversee power plant-related capital projects and operations & maintenance (O&M) projects, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Direct and coordinate a team of technical professionals, consultants, and contractors in the design and execution of assigned projects.
  • Provide technical support to the Outage Project Manager and other plant personnel involved in scheduled maintenance outages at the facility.
  • Conduct equipment inspections during downtime to offer technical guidance and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager, Operations Leader, and Maintenance Leader to establish best practices and provide technical direction for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • Evaluate requests and recommendations for equipment design or system operating changes, and initiate necessary requests or changes to address operational issues.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting of process control computer systems, plant systems, and equipment to optimize plant efficiency and reliability.
  • Provide technical support in maintaining compliance with boiler and pressure vessel codes and other maintenance standards.
  • Prepare reports on assigned projects, including updates on project status, schedule, and cost.
  • Network with industry professionals to gain insights and contribute to the successful execution of asset reliability projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the power generation or waste-to-energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with proven experience in effectively aligning resources.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clear and effective interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency in PC-based software, including reporting tools, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, and presentations.
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug/alcohol test, and reference checks.

Working Conditions:

This position typically follows a Monday - Friday schedule, with potential for additional hours during scheduled plant outages. Hybrid work schedule available. This position is classified as a safety-sensitive role subject to drug, cannabis, and alcohol testing.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary: $109,280+ (depending on experience and qualifications)
