Plant Engineer
Plant Engineer, Power Generation
Morgantown, WV | $105,000 - $140,000 Per Year
This position supports reliability and performance engineering at a power generation facility in Morgantown, West Virginia, reporting directly to the Reliability and Performance Manager. The Plant Engineer works across operations, maintenance, and materials functions to identify equipment issues, lead corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in plant processes and systems. The role is well suited to an engineer who wants broad exposure to power plant operations and a clear path toward taking ownership of increasingly complex projects.
Schedule
Full-time. Standard plant schedule with the expectation of extended hours during outages or unplanned equipment events on short notice.
Compensation
$105,000 - $140,000 Per Year
What You'll Do
You will begin with a structured rotation through operations, maintenance, and material handling to build familiarity with plant equipment, processes, procedures, and personnel. From that foundation, you will provide technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams on repairs, procedures, and project execution, and will assist in evaluating proposals for material supply and installation.
Reliability and performance monitoring will be a core part of your daily work. You will track identified equipment issues, participate in root cause analyses, lead investigations to identify causal factors, and coordinate implementation of corrective actions. You will also support the adoption of predictive maintenance technologies designed to detect early-onset equipment degradation.
Project support and execution are central to this role. You will assist with and, over time, lead projects from planning through close-out, managing contractor coordination, budget compliance, and schedule adherence. You will participate in outage planning and execution to ensure scope, schedule, and budget targets are met.
You will maintain a backlog of assigned work orders, create purchase requisitions, and collaborate across plant departments on process and procedure improvements. All work activities must comply with applicable OSHA safety regulations, Federal, State, and Local permit obligations, and relevant engineering standards.
