About the Role
This company is a global technology leader in its segment of the chemical manufacturing industry. The Product Manager is responsible for managing a product line to ensure material availability for sale, overseeing product life cycles for both domestic and imported products. This role leads market analysis on current and emerging competitive technologies, sets strategy for current and new product introductions, and maintains budgeting and forecasting systems to ensure reporting accuracy. The Product Manager works closely with sales, manufacturing, planning, and customer service teams to ensure inventory is sufficient, production is planned, and product is delivered on time.
Schedule
Full time. Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
Compensation
$110,000 to $137,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a sign on bonus and annual bonus potential of 8 to 12%.
What You'll Do
The Product Manager supports the process and systems for budgeting product demand, forecasting, and production planning, helping set production priorities and maintain appropriate inventory levels. This role coordinates product line literature such as technical data sheets, line cards, and promotional materials, manages website content for the product line, and maintains data on budgets, forecasts, and actual sales by product line. The Product Manager provides market analysis by application and end use, analyzes market share and trends, and identifies opportunities to increase revenue, profit, and share. This person identifies product requirements for new or existing markets and coordinates with sales, technical service, product development, and manufacturing to bring new products to market, while also collecting and analyzing market share, import, and export data to maintain market awareness.
This role coordinates product supply for domestic and international customers, including products produced in region or imported from international subsidiaries, and communicates forecasts, budgets, and actual sales to regional and global production planners. The Product Manager supports growth strategy by coordinating capital expansion with sales growth projections and recommending resource needs across technical service, application development, product development, marketing, and sales. This person also supports monthly business reviews, conducts regular sales and product analysis, coordinates trade show participation, and manages slow moving and aging inventory by tracking stock levels and implementing mitigation strategies with production and sales teams to reduce financial impact and prevent excess inventory buildup.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or a technology related field

5 to 10 years of experience in a chemical related business, specifically in supply chain, marketing, product management, or planning

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Advanced proficiency in SAP, particularly S/4HANA

Experience analyzing sales data (historical, forecast, and budget) and recommending plans or actions to ensure supply

Sales experience in both B2B and B2C environments
Preferred Qualifications

General knowledge of PowerPoint and MS Access or related data management systems

Experience working with international or cross cultural teams
