Summary:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for measuring lung capacity and analyzing blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Additionally, you may be required to provide tobacco cessation education, perform bedside PFTs and EKGs, and deliver prescribed therapy while assessing patient responses as outlined in their individual care plans. Monitoring, recording, and communicating the patient's condition accurately and timely is crucial. This role also involves evaluating respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and industry best practices. Responding to medical emergencies and providing appropriate treatment are essential responsibilities. Patient and family education on the patient's illness, as well as information on available community support groups and resources, will be part of your duties. Managing, stocking, and distributing respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders is a necessary part of this role. Maintaining the required supply levels and equipment functionality by disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, performing preventative maintenance, and calibrating machines is essential.
Qualifications:
- Valid Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care License
- Graduation from a CRT or RRT Program is mandatory
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Comply with the regulations of the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care

- The position requires working night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am with rotating weekends
- Salary ranges from $24 per hour to $36 per hour, commensurate with experience
