MUST HAVES

• 10+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience with a commercial General Contractor

• Strong expertise in commercial construction estimating and budgeting

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, contracts, and proposals

• Experience with multiple estimating software platforms

• Proven leadership experience managing preconstruction or estimating teams

• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Chief Preconstruction Estimator to lead and manage all preconstruction and estimating efforts for a growing Memphis operation. This is a director-level, strategic role with direct influence on regional growth, business development, and project success.

You will play a key role in building the pipeline, leading estimating strategy, and partnering with leadership to drive expansion in the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead all preconstruction and estimating functions for the region

• Prepare and oversee detailed cost estimates and project budgets

• Review drawings, specifications, and proposals for accuracy and completeness

• Conduct site visits and coordinate subcontractor bids

• Analyze proposals, identify risks, and resolve discrepancies

• Partner with leadership on strategy, business development, and project pursuits

• Mentor and develop estimating team members

• Support client relationships and project planning efforts

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)

• Strong leadership with the ability to drive team performance and collaboration

• High level of attention to detail and strategic thinking

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
