Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating manual machine tools (mills and lathes)

• Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment such as Bridgeport mills

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair skills

• Ability to fabricate or repair parts without relying on CNC or automated machining

• Experience reverse engineering worn or broken parts when drawings are unavailable

• Ability to work independently and make sound mechanical decisions

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Millwright to join a manufacturing facility in Carol Stream, Illinois. This is a hands-on machining and mechanical repair role supporting a production environment that operates custom-built and legacy equipment.

This position became available following the retirement of a long-tenured team member. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient machinist who can quickly diagnose equipment issues, fabricate replacement parts using manual machine tools, and help keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual Bridgeport mills, lathes, and related tooling to fabricate and repair production components

• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on presses, roll formers, and other industrial machinery

• Reverse engineer worn or damaged components when engineering drawings are unavailable

• Support production by quickly restoring equipment functionality during breakdowns

• Maintain an organized and functional tool room and machining workspace

• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and uptime

• Perform precision machining and fabrication to meet production needs
