Metallurgical Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI

As a Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for utilizing your expertise in metallurgy to contribute to the production of large castings. This position is available as part of our ongoing succession planning efforts. We specialize in manufacturing large alloy castings for the aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, and other industries. What you will be doing:

· You will be responsible for defining metallurgical requirements for casting projects

· You will troubleshoot and resolve issues related to castings

· You will provide technical support to both external and internal customers

· You will lead or assist in continuous process improvement initiatives

What they are looking for:

  • You must have a BS degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
  • You should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience working with casting metallurgy
  • We seek a team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Due to the nature of our defense work, U.S. citizenship is a requirement
  • Experience in induction furnace melting, arc melting, and AOD refining is highly advantageous
  • Additional knowledge and skills in working with copper alloys is preferred
  • Familiarity with Six-Sigma / Lean Manufacturing practices would also be beneficial
