Metallurgical Engineer

Casting Experience Required for Materials Engineer Position in Milwaukee, WI

We are currently seeking a skilled Metallurgical Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in metallurgy to work as a hands-on castings engineer, specializing in the creation of large castings. Our company produces large alloy castings for various industries, including aerospace, defense, and industrial equipment. What you will be responsible for:

  • Defining the metallurgical requirements for casting projects
  • Troubleshooting problems related to castings
  • Providing technical support to both external and internal customers
  • Leading or assisting with continuous process improvements

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with casting metallurgy
  • Must be a team player and able to collaborate with staff at all levels
  • Due to the nature of our defense work, candidates must be U.S. Citizens
  • Experience with induction furnace melting, arc melting, and AOD refining is highly beneficial
  • The more knowledge you possess about alloys, especially in working with copper, the better
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing practices is also advantageous
