Must-Have Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 5 years of power plant operations and/or maintenance experience

  • Experience working as a Control Room Operator (CRO); CRO qualification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plant operational systems

  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and irregular schedules as needed

  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and operational reliability


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled O&M Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of a power generation facility in Lakewood, NJ. This position plays a key cross-functional role supporting both plant operations and maintenance, ensuring reliable performance of mechanical and operational systems.

The O&M Technician will be responsible for monitoring plant equipment, maintaining boiler water chemistry, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting daily operational activities to ensure safe and compliant plant performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor plant equipment and mechanical systems throughout the facility

  • Maintain boiler water chemistry and monitor plant performance data

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant mechanical systems and equipment

  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications

  • Conduct routine inspections and operational tests to ensure equipment is functioning within required parameters

  • Support plant startup, shutdown, and operational control of turbines and balance of plant systems

  • Utilize CMMS systems to complete maintenance work orders, track inventory, and maintain equipment history

  • Maintain storeroom inventory, shipping and receiving parts and materials required for plant maintenance

  • Operate plant equipment including forklifts, cranes, plow trucks, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other facility equipment

  • Support scheduled and unscheduled outages and assist during equipment breakdowns

  • Lead and coordinate contractors performing work at the facility

  • Utilize plant monitoring tools such as data historians and PI ProcessBook for troubleshooting and performance analysis

  • Identify and report abnormal plant conditions to appropriate personnel

  • Complete required safety and permitting documentation, including Job Safety Analysis, Work Authorization, LOTO, Hot Work, and Confined Space permits

  • Maintain compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and NERC standards

  • Perform general housekeeping and continuous improvement activities to maintain plant appearance and functionality

  • Support colleagues and contribute to the safe and reliable operation of the facility
