Must-Haves

• 5+ years of experience designing women’s woven apparel
• Strong sketching ability with advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
• Experience designing both soft wovens and/or tailored woven categories
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally (sales, production, technical design)
• Must be able to work onsite in New York, 5 days per week

Overview

An established NYC-based wholesale manufacturer is seeking two Womenswear Designers to support modern/contemporary apparel lines. These roles offer the opportunity to work across a range of woven categories for high-volume, off-price retail channels.

Role Breakdown

Designer 1 – Soft Wovens / Novelty Focus

• Focus on soft woven apparel such as linen and cotton pieces
• Design styles featuring novelty details including embellishments, embroidery, and cut-outs
• Bring a trend-driven, fashion-forward perspective to casual and elevated styles

Designer 2 – Wovens (Tailored + Soft)

• Design across a full range of woven categories including blazers, pants, skirts, and blouses
• Balance tailored structure with soft woven versatility
• Create commercially viable styles aligned with off-price market needs

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original designs from concept through final production
• Create detailed sketches and tech-ready Illustrator flats
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet cost, quality, and timeline expectations
• Interpret trends and translate them into commercially successful products
• Maintain strong attention to detail across all aspects of design and development
