Mining & Bulk Material Handling Industry

Drive the growth of a large-scale aftermarket operation while maintaining a direct presence at mine sites across major commodity regions.

 

Must-Haves

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical/Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 10+ years in engineering, construction, service, commissioning, or operations environments
  • Strong understanding of material handling equipment, commissioning procedures, and field instrumentation
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical documentation and work plans
  • Field or mine-site experience strongly preferred

  • Mining industry experience
  • Bulk material handling systems knowledge

  • Customer-facing and business development track record
  • Heavy industrial commissioning, installation, and maintenance support

What You'll Do

Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Define and execute the After Sales growth strategy for mining and material handling markets
  • Expand spare parts sales and develop new aftermarket service offerings
  • Identify and pursue retrofit, modernization, and equipment conversion opportunities
  • Build networks of representatives and distributors across mining regions (copper, gold, coal)
  • Gain market share by servicing competitor equipment
  • Maintain strong mine-site presence to uncover opportunities and strengthen customer relationships

Service Operations Leadership Lead the Service Department through all phases of customer support:

  • Mine-site inspections and equipment assessments
  • Installation support and commissioning activities
  • Equipment testing and startup procedures
  • Maintenance support and technical troubleshooting
  • Operational consulting and performance optimization

Technical & Safety Excellence

  • Conduct on-site inspections of material handling equipment
  • Monitor installation quality and commissioning compliance
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices per OSHA and MSHA standards
  • Provide field feedback to engineering teams for equipment improvements
  • Support preparation of functional specifications and assembly documentation
  • Assist with equipment refurbishment and maintenance programs

Team & Customer Development

  • Lead and mentor Service Department personnel
  • Support customer training on operation and maintenance
  • Drive department performance and operational improvements
  • Develop long-term customer relationships and retention strategies
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives

Work Environment

This is an office-based role with extensive field and mine-site interaction. The position requires frequent travel and extended stays at project and mine sites. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on project schedules.
