Heavy Civil Superintendent
Hartford, CT

Lead critical highway and DOT infrastructure projects where your field expertise and crew leadership build the transportation systems that connect Connecticut communities.

Must-Haves

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Civil Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
• Strong understanding of heavy civil and DOT project execution, including traffic and highway work
• Demonstrated ability to lead and direct field crews with a safety-first approach

Technical Knowledge:

• Experience coordinating labor, equipment, and materials on active construction sites
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project documentation
• Familiarity with drilled foundations or comparable civil infrastructure scopes (preferred)

Leadership Skills:

• Strong on-site communication and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience maintaining daily logs, reporting, and crew documentation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers and project teams

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience working within union environments (Laborers or Operators) is a plus but not required

What You'll Achieve

Field Operations Leadership

• Take charge of daily field operations on active civil and DOT-related projects
• Direct crews through complex civil scopes, including drilled foundation installation and heavy highway work
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with plans and specifications

Crew & Resource Management

• Oversee and mentor field crews, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to maintain consistent workflow and maximize productivity
• Provide clear on-site direction and communication that keeps teams aligned and efficient

Problem-Solving & Collaboration

• Identify field challenges in real time and work collaboratively with teams to implement solutions
• Partner closely with Project Managers to support scheduling, sequencing, and quality control efforts
• Serve as the field liaison, ensuring seamless communication between crews and project leadership

Documentation & Accountability

• Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and crew documentation with accuracy and consistency
• Track site activities and ensure compliance with project timelines and safety standards
• Provide reliable field data that supports decision-making and project success
