Private Client Paralegal

Location: Marlborough, Wiltshire
Salary: 35-45K plus excellent benefits package

Role & Responsibilities

As a Private Client Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our
solicitors and partners, ensuring smooth running of client files and
excellent client care.

Your responsibilities will include:

– Assisting with the drafting of wills, trusts, and lasting powers of
attorney

– Preparing probate applications and assisting with estate
administration

– Conducting legal research and preparing supporting documentation

– Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, and the Probate Registry

– Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation

– Managing your own caseload of straightforward matters under
supervision

– Supporting solicitors with more complex cases and attending client
meetings where required

– Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations

Qualifications:

Key Requirements

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Private Client Paralegal to
join our specialist firm, advising a loyal and longstanding client base
which is primarily farming and land-owning individuals and families. You
will bring a deep understanding of private client law and the ability to
manage matters independently while delivering exceptional service.

Essential skills and experience:

– Previous paralegal experience in Private Client law (minimum 12
months preferred)

– Strong understanding of key areas including wills, probate, trusts,
and lasting powers of attorney

– Confident in drafting standard legal documents with accuracy and
attention to detail

– Experience liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a
professional and empathetic manner

– Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including file
management and deadlines

– Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable skills:

– Experience working with farming, rural, or high-net-worth clients

– Experience with commercial partnership agreements

– Knowledge of estate and tax planning

– Progression toward professional qualifications such as CILEX or STEP
