Government Construction Superintendent

Government Construction Superintendent

Boston, MA | Full-Time

A Massachusetts-based general contractor specializing in public-sector construction seeks an experienced superintendent to manage municipal and government construction projects throughout the state. This role requires a valid Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License and a track record of delivering government projects on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with public procurement and prevailing wage requirements.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with on-site presence required across project locations in Massachusetts. Schedule may vary based on project phase and site requirements.

Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000 Per Year

What You'll Do

You will manage all on-site construction activities from project initiation through closeout across a portfolio of municipal and public-sector projects. Your work will span renovations, additions, and new construction of government buildings including town halls, public schools, police and fire stations, libraries, public works facilities, and similar publicly owned structures. You will coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and municipal representatives throughout the construction process, serving as the primary field point of contact.

Maintaining project schedules and driving progress toward milestone completion is a core part of the role. You will conduct regular site meetings, provide project updates to stakeholders, and identify and resolve construction conflicts, scope issues, and schedule delays as they arise. Compliance is equally central to this position: you will ensure all work conforms to contract documents, Massachusetts building codes, OSHA regulations, prevailing wage requirements, and public-sector construction rules throughout the life of each project.

You will maintain complete project documentation, including daily field logs, safety reports, and inspection records. You will coordinate all required inspections and manage the closeout process, ensuring all punch list items, as-built documentation, and regulatory sign-offs are completed in an organized and timely manner.
