Production Manager, Corrugated

A corrugated packaging facility in Lansing, MI is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead plant operations across converting lines and production personnel. This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for output optimization, waste reduction, P&L management, and customer fulfillment in a box manufacturing environment. The position is well suited to a hands-on production leader with a strong background in corrugated converting operations.

Schedule

Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with availability for off-hours response as production needs require.

Compensation

$130,000 - $150,000 Per Year

What You'll Do

You will oversee converting lines and production personnel across the facility, serving as the primary production leader responsible for maximizing output while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. That includes identifying and driving process improvements, reducing manufacturing waste, and implementing best-in-class manufacturing practices throughout the plant.

You will manage the production P&L with a focus on controlling manufacturing costs and optimizing profitability. That means monitoring production metrics, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and making operational decisions that balance output targets with financial performance. You will also coordinate with customers as needed to maintain strong relationships, ensure order fulfillment meets quality standards, and support on-time delivery in alignment with just-in-time methodology.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of leadership experience within the corrugated packaging industry, with converting facility experience (paper to box) strongly preferred
• Technical degree in Engineering or a related field, with a Bachelor of Science preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing production operations in a corrugated box or corrugated packaging manufacturing environment
• Experience with P&L management and production cost control in a manufacturing setting
• Strong working knowledge of production KPIs, output metrics, and waste reduction methodologies
• Ability to coordinate directly with customers on order fulfillment, quality, and delivery requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies in a corrugated or paper packaging environment
• Familiarity with just-in-time production planning and scheduling systems
• Experience with CMMS or production management software platforms
• Prior experience overseeing multiple converting lines simultaneously
