Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Boyne City, MI | $70,000 to $75,000 annually | Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM

This is an on-site supervisory role at a medical device manufacturing facility in Boyne City, Michigan. The company operates in a regulated, ISO and FDA-compliant production environment and is looking for a hands-on leader with a solid manufacturing background to run second shift operations. The team is well-established and values accountability, clear communication, and a steady approach to continuous improvement.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Compensation

$70,000 to $75,000 base salary annually. Benefits are available beginning on day one of employment.

What You'll Do

As Production Supervisor, you will have direct responsibility for all production activity during the second shift. That means overseeing output targets, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining the quality standards required in a medical device environment. You will monitor floor operations in real time and step in to redirect workflow, resolve bottlenecks, or address personnel issues as they arise.

You will lead, coach, and develop your production team on an ongoing basis. That includes verifying employee qualifications before task assignments, conducting performance reviews, and making personnel recommendations to plant management. Mentoring is a consistent part of the role, not an occasional one.

You will also contribute to plant-wide improvement initiatives. When you identify a cost-reduction opportunity or a process that is not performing efficiently, you are expected to act on it. You will support Material Review Board activities, participate in production and quality meetings, and coordinate emergency response during your shift in the event an incident occurs.

Compliance is non-negotiable in this environment. You will maintain adherence to ISO standards and FDA regulations throughout the shift, ensure all documentation is accurate, and hold the team to the quality standards required by the company's customer base.

Required Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Familiarity with inspection, measurement, and testing equipment
• Experience with an ERP system
• Working knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of up to 10 hours per shift, including frequent bending and twisting
• Vision correctable to 20/20 with the ability to distinguish colors
• Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
• CNC production experience
• Experience in a medical device or other FDA-regulated manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with Material Review Board processes
• Previous experience managing in a multi-shift facility
