Head of Finance
Louisville, KY | $160,000 to $180,000 per year

Our client, a growing industrial company that recently established its U.S. headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, is hiring a Director of Accounting & Finance to lead core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for its U.S. business. The company is part of a larger international group and is currently in an active growth and expansion phase in the U.S. market. This role reports to the Group Finance Director, who is based in Europe, and partners closely with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and overall business results.

Schedule: Full time, on site in Louisville, KY

Compensation: $160,000 to $180,000 per year, based on experience

What You'll Do

The Director of Accounting & Finance leads the monthly close process and is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. This person oversees Blackline reconciliations and system uploads, produces monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis, and presents financial results to leadership during monthly review meetings. On the forecasting side, the role owns the 13 week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis, supports monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates, analyzes variances between actuals, forecast, and budget, and delivers actionable financial insights to leadership. The position also ensures compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, oversees preparation and filing of returns and reports, and manages relationships with external advisors and auditors. On the capital side, this person partners with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets, monitor project costs and timelines, and manage asset capitalization processes. The role is also responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements, driving automation and efficiency across financial systems, and providing oversight and guidance to accounting staff as a key finance partner to operations and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 8 to 12 or more years of experience in accounting or finance

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

• ERP and financial systems experience, including tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license

• MBA

• Experience with Power BI

• Experience with tax credits and incentives

• Project or capital accounting experience

• Multi-entity or international business exposure
