Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 per year
We are an apparel company specializing in women's and men's clothing across multiple categories. We're looking for a Technical Designer to join our Women's Wovens team, responsible for building accurate, production-ready technical packages and partnering closely with factories to maintain fit and construction consistency.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site five days per week in our New York, NY office.
Compensation
$75,000 to $95,000 per year, based on experience.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will create detailed technical packages covering construction, specs, and fit comments that meet brand standards, working to keep fit and make consistent across multiple factories. You will apply strong pattern making knowledge to give factories clear, specific fit direction and pattern corrections. This role also involves participating in fit sessions with live models, where you will identify fit issues in real time, communicate them clearly, and recommend practical solutions. You will draw on hands on knowledge of garment construction, sewing, and factory processes suited to high end and mid tier markets to guide these decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with women's apparel for better markets (Saks, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, or similar retailers)
- Working knowledge of garment construction, sewing, and factory processes for high end and mid tier markets
- Proven ability to conduct fit sessions, manage a full workload independently, and maintain composure under pressure
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills across multiple simultaneous projects
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on-site five days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Patternmaking experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Illustrator
