Senior Property Accountant, Commercial Real Estate REIT

San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 6 remote days a month)

Be the financial lead for a portfolio of top-tier office and life science properties at a major publicly traded REIT in downtown San Francisco. You will own the quarterly close, lease billing, CAM and tax escalations, and GAAP reporting for your properties. The company has a strong track record of promoting from within.

Must-Haves

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Business Administration
• 1 to 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong GAAP financial reporting and account reconciliation skills
• Advanced Excel
• Organized self-starter who can juggle deadlines with minimal supervision

What You'll Do

• Run the quarterly close, including supporting schedules and audit binders
• Prepare quarterly tax and GAAP financial statements for assigned properties
• Make sure tenants are billed correctly for rent and additional charges, and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare operating expense and real estate tax escalations and annual true-ups
• Present quarterly revenue and expense variance explanations with property management
• Interpret leases, JV agreements, and mortgage documents; prepare monthly depreciation
• Support annual budgets, reforecasts, lender reporting, and audits

Nice-to-Haves

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Commercial real estate accounting experience
