Lead Mechanical Engineer - Life Science (PE)

Location: Boston, MA area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000 to $215,000 per year

Lead a team of ten mechanical engineers designing the cleanrooms, aseptic suites, and utility plants behind new biologics and cell therapy facilities.

Must-Haves

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Significant mechanical design experience on pharmaceutical or biotech facilities, with hands-on cGMP work
• Working knowledge of cGMP HVAC requirements, including cleanroom classification and pressurization
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers
• Comfortable working directly with clients

What You'll Do

• Lead mechanical design for pharmaceutical and biotech projects, from renovations to new construction
• Design HVAC and process support systems for cGMP spaces, including cleanrooms and aseptic processing areas
• Design central utility systems such as chiller plants
• Perform load calculations, select equipment, and write specifications
• Serve as engineer of record and review the mechanical team's work
• Mentor and develop a group of about ten engineers
• Partner with clients and support proposals and business development
• Coordinate with process, electrical, architecture, and commissioning teams
• Support construction administration, including submittals, RFIs, and site visits

Compensation and Benefits

• $150,000 to $215,000 base salary based on experience
• Leadership of an established mechanical group
• Work on high-impact biologics, cell therapy, and aseptic processing facilities
