Product Owner, Medicaid Eligibility Systems

Be the voice of the state and its members on a Medicaid eligibility and enrollment delivery team. You will turn eligibility policy into a clear, prioritized backlog and lead impact analysis on new federal requirements, at a boutique public-sector consulting firm. Pay is $130K to $160K.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years as a Product Owner, product manager, or business lead on government or healthcare systems
• 3+ years with Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, or integrated eligibility systems
• Working knowledge of MAGI and non-MAGI rules, verifications, and renewals
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira or Azure DevOps
• Agile or Scrum team experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

What You'll Do

• Own and prioritize the Medicaid eligibility and enrollment backlog
• Translate eligibility policy into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Lead impact analysis for new requirements, including H.R. 1 community engagement and renewal changes
• Clarify rules with state policy and program staff
• Work with Scrum Masters, developers, testers, and BAs through each sprint
• Accept completed work and support UAT with state staff
• Coordinate dependencies with SNAP, MMIS, and managed care organizations
• Track outcomes like timeliness, auto-renewal rates, and error rates

Nice-to-Haves

• CSPO or SAFe POPM
• CMS oversight and state system certification experience
• SNAP or integrated eligibility familiarity
• Mississippi Medicaid or other state Medicaid agency experience
