Automation Solutions Specialist

Description:
As an Automation Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for deploying customized automation solutions across diverse industries and maintaining control systems to ensure the efficient and secure operation of industrial processes. This position entails collaborating with various cross-functional teams to configure control systems and enhance process performance, reliability, and safety.
The Automation Solutions Specialist is accountable for working with clients and vendors to implement project tasks within the designated scope of work, in alignment with project objectives and goals. This role demands expertise in industrial-specific technical knowledge and programming best practices. You will be expected to represent the company effectively while implementing automated programming and processes that facilitate the successful completion of various projects at customer sites.
Responsibilities:
- Execute engineering services related to projects, such as project management, project estimation, control system design and programming, system and functional documentation, as well as startup and commissioning.
- Provide technical leadership and influence engineering project decisions.
- Lead the design and execution of complex projects.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and perform programming on both PLC and DCS platforms, including but not limited to ABB System 800xA, Rockwell ControlLogix/PlantPAx platforms, and Emerson DeltaV.
- Serve as the technical liaison with the customer, addressing concerns and offering expert guidance.
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing control system platforms at client facilities.
- Offer technical sales support to the company's sales team.
- Travel to client facilities for technical sales support, project review, and implementation as necessary.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging automation technologies.
- Analyze project requirements, propose solutions, and assist the estimator in determining resource needs.

- Emerson DeltaV
- Honeywell Experion
Skills & Qualifications:
- Applicants must possess a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret electrical control panel drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and other engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing industrial automation systems.
- Experience in project management and leadership.
- Strong communication skills.
- Enjoyment of collaborative work in a team environment.
- Capacity to provide learning or training resources.
- Thorough understanding of the role and necessary job duties.
- Capability to perform job duties with minimal supervision or direction.
- Education in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
