Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will oversee the sales development processes for Tier 1 and OEM markets in North America. They will be responsible for driving new business acquisitions, as well as nurturing existing business relationships and supporting daily program management. The ultimate goal is to achieve profitable growth within the NA industry markets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies aligned with the NA strategic vision.
  • Achieve business acquisition targets directly.
  • Create sales opportunities by leveraging network and business partner relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external customers through effective communication.
  • Analyze market data to identify focus areas for business development.
  • Handle negotiations and conflict situations effectively.
  • Make quick and effective decisions to drive growth.
  • Coordinate commercial activities, including engineering changes and negotiations.
  • Maintain and update internal sales systems and track/report changes to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize operations.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Achieve financial objectives, including cost analysis and margin enhancement.
  • Contribute to the development of core processes and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism and conformance to corporate culture.
  • Handle unexpected situations and respond appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Level of Education & Training:

  • Proven track record of driving new business growth in the Plastics Automotive industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or Engineering.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of professional experience with demonstrated sales success.
  • Experience in communicating with senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough understanding of the sales cycle process.
  • Ability to develop and execute innovative strategies for lead generation.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing organization preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time domestically and internationally.

Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Sales experience in the automotive (Plastics) industry.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating and developing solutions.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Deadline-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.

Language Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively engage with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Travel:

  • Frequent domestic and international travel with valid identification.
  • Travel outside of U.S borders is strictly prohibited during night/late evening hours.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include sitting, walking, going up and down stairs, and talking or hearing. Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

Work Environment:

The work environment for this role involves multiple conversations and situations in the same area, limiting privacy. Concentration, discretion, and confidentiality are essential. Reliable transportation is required for attending business meetings. Occasional travel is necessary.
