Business Development Manager

Job description:

Business Development Leader for a successful business unit of a $10B aerospace manufacturer. Highly visible commercial leadership role owning sales growth. Family-friendly business, longstanding history.

Hybrid work schedule, must reside in greater Tulsa, OK area

  • Support existing OEM/MRO customers with heavy focus on generating new business across defense & commercial aerospace & aviation
  • Existing customers include major aerospace OEMs, defense programs, and Tier 1 suppliers (military fixed wing, composites, fabricated structures)
  • Individual contributor role with opportunity to build and scale the commercial function
  • Vertically integrated build-to-print manufacturer of composite & metal bonding (doors, wing panels, landing gear, panels, flaps, etc)
  • Base salary target $170K180K + 15k bonus + relocation + excellent benefits

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
– Generate business opportunities with new and existing customers
– Maintain a constant flow of RFQs and RFPs for the sales pipeline
– Support estimating activities with customer follow-up on in-process and submitted quotes and proposals
– Establish a three-year strategic and tactical sales plan and forecast, with year-over-year growth targets
– Develop long-term strategic relationships across the customer organization, from buyers to decision makers
– Develop customer-specific PowerPoint presentations and marketing materials in close collaboration with program and business development personnel
– Build Capture Plans for strategic target programs, part numbers, and customers
– Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products and services
– Lead the sales process across multiple departments, with a focus on core competency programs and parts; provide market and target pricing inputs when available
– Maintain current awareness of industry intelligence, new programs, customer news, new technology, new requirements, and aircraft platform production rates

Qualifications:

**Experience and Education**
– Minimum high school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
– Minimum 10 years of sales experience in aerospace manufacturing, strong sales growth experience
– Familiarity with government and industry regulations and portals a plus, including FARs, DFARs, FAA, SAM, JCP, and similar
