Department Head - Electrical Mission Critical Data Centers

Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Hybrid, up to 2 days per week remote
Pay: $250,000 to $300,000 per year

Lead the electrical department behind some of the country's largest hyperscale and AI data center projects, as the technical authority and engineer of record for a Boston office.

Must-Haves

• 15+ years of electrical design experience, with substantial data center work on hyperscale or colocation projects
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Medium voltage distribution and protective relaying experience
• Experience designing redundant power systems for tiered facilities
• Proven track record leading engineering teams
• Working knowledge of Revit and BIM
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience

What You'll Do

• Run the electrical department, owning design guidelines and the quality review process
• Mentor and grow a team of electrical engineers and designers
• Review drawings, Revit models, and calculations before issue
• Lead electrical design on large data center projects, from early planning through construction
• Design medium voltage distribution up to 35 kV, specifying transformers, switchgear, and feeders
• Develop protection and control schemes, including relay settings and control schematics
• Oversee power system studies
• Serve as senior electrical contact for data center clients and sign as engineer of record

Compensation and Benefits

• $250,000 to $300,000 base salary based on experience
• Hybrid schedule with up to two remote days per week
• Relocation assistance available
• Work on projects ranging from data hall fit-ups to 30+ MW buildings and multi-building campuses with their own substations
