Electrical Engineer
Mobile, AL | Full-time | $125,000 - $135,000 Per Year
This manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for industrial electrical, automation, and process-control systems. This role owns the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of plant electrical and control systems, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, instrumentation, and high- and medium-voltage power distribution, while also leading capital projects from concept through startup.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site role within an industrial manufacturing facility.
Compensation
$125,000 to $135,000 per year, based on experience.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens SIMATIC S7/TIA Portal, and Mitsubishi PLC systems, and configure, integrate, and maintain Yokogawa Distributed Control Systems. You will maintain SCADA interfaces, HMI screens, and process-data collection systems, including Aspen Data Historian, and perform loop checks, calibration oversight, and logic tuning for industrial process controls, instrumentation, and control valves. You will coordinate automation software and hardware upgrades along with industrial network communications.
You will oversee electrical power-distribution systems, substations, and infrastructure, primarily 5kV, and perform arc-flash hazard analysis, short-circuit and fault-current studies, and protective-relaying assessments. You will manage MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and switchgear, ensuring all electrical design and installations comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, and industrial grounding and bonding standards.
You will lead capital engineering projects from feasibility and cost estimation through design, procurement, construction, and startup, and develop and review technical specifications for manufacturing equipment, chemical reactors, rinsing systems, and material-handling equipment. You will develop and maintain P&IDs, electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and control-philosophy documentation using AutoCAD, and manage vendor bids, change orders, contractors, and third-party technical resources. You will also provide troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis for complex electrical, instrumentation, and control-system issues.
