The Supply Chain Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of various processes involved in the production of hair products. This position involves organizing, coordinating, and overseeing all activities related to the identification, acquisition, and distribution of goods. Key responsibilities include developing supply chain strategies, managing supplier relationships, acting as a supply chain representative during product development, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials. Collaboration with different departments such as Manufacturing, Quality, Creative, Finance, R&D, and Product Development is an integral part of this role. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in managing supply chains for Consumer Packaged Goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to maintain effective supply chain resources and establish strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Set performance metrics to measure factors affecting the supply chain, drive cost savings, and maximize value through various initiatives.
- Analyze current inventories and procedures to propose efficiency improvements and strategies for reducing inventory.
- Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes, negotiate with carriers, and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Evaluate material-handling equipment and staffing requirements for efficient material movement and storage.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies.
- Participate as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information on material availability and pricing options.
- Coordinate engineering changes, product line extensions, and new product launches to ensure smooth transitions in material and production flow.
- Develop vendor qualification standards, monitor supplier performance, and support Quality Control (QC) in maintaining quality and safety documentation.
- Implement policies to increase supply chain efficiency while upholding quality and safety standards.
- Lead the Supply Chain team, provide coaching and mentoring to team members, and foster a high-performing culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
- Excellent analytical skills, including proficiency in intermediate Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and conditional formulas.
- Experience in logistics management.
- Budget and cost management expertise.
- Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and analyze data to reduce supply chain costs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position oversees all employees within the Supply Chain departments, providing leadership, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
- Equivalent of 5+ years of previous managerial-level experience in supply chain management, including forecasting, scheduling, and real-time operations management.
- Experience with Sage X3 is considered a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is beneficial.
CERTIFICATES:
- Lean Manufacturing certification is advantageous.
- Certifications in effective management and communication are beneficial.
- Relevant training certifications in industry topics are a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, along with strong initiative and leadership capabilities.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Advanced mathematical skills are required to research supply chain analytics, investigate complex issues, solve problems, and make operational decisions.
