Location: Waterloo, IA

Salary: $80-110K plus incentives

Job Summary of the Logistics Manager: The Logistics Manager will have direct responsibility for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing operations for all aspects of logistics. Responsible for implementing efficient supply chain strategies, managing supplier relationships, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and ensuring supplier performance and quality. Develop and manage processes that support transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, continually evaluating logistics activities to meet business requirements and objectives.

Job Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators and comprehensive reporting to measure logistics performance.
  • Manage and evaluate supplier performance, address any issues, and implement corrective measures to improve logistics operations.
  • Stay updated on domestic and international logistics requirements, inventory control practices, and material management methodologies.
  • Select and manage suppliers, negotiate partnerships, and protect intellectual property to achieve financial targets and operational needs.
  • Develop and execute inventory plans to optimize material replenishment strategies and achieve inventory management goals.
  • Ensure stock availability by establishing reorder levels, lead times, and maintaining sufficient inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with various departments during product development and design changes to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain safety standards across the supply chain and ensure OSHA compliance through regular inspections and data reporting.
  • Procure operational materials and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, while meeting quality requirements and customer specifications.
  • Lead and motivate the logistics team by delegating tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring accountability for business objectives.
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, visitors, customers, and employees at all levels of the organization.

Education & Experience of the Logistics Manager:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or relevant field is preferred.

  • 5 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
  • Proven expertise in negotiation, procurement, inventory management, and distribution management, including planning, forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations and trends in the industry.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, such as Syteline, for logistics management.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and other MS Office applications are required.
