Electrical Engineer
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Creates, maintains, and monitors action plans for program tasks and overall maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
Ø Regularly reports program activity status to plant management.
Ø Coordinates contract services for program-related activities when necessary.
Ø Reviews electrical maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and standards.
Ø Conducts formal and informal audits of program elements to ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards.
Ø Keeps up-to-date with company/government regulations and compliance requirements.
Ø Evaluates capital project scopes and vendor proposals for purchasing new equipment.
Ø Assists in troubleshooting plant electrical maintenance issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Ø Identifies units with high failure risks and supports design changes through failure mode analyses.
Ø Assists in training hourly personnel on repairs and preventative maintenance protocols.
Ø Actively participates in Process Safety and Risk management activities, including Management of Change, Process Hazards Analysis, Process Safety Hazard Hunter, and pre-startup safety reviews.
Ø Candidates from engineering companies specializing in plant power distribution engineering will be considered for the electrical power engineering role.
Ø Candidates must be based in the Houston, TX area.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
f Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
f Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering.
f Preferably has experience in plant maintenance.
f High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
f Strong written and verbal communication skills.
f Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.
f Available to work weekends, holidays, and respond to non-routine callouts.
f Desirable knowledge of NEC and other codes related to electrical engineering and high voltage systems.
f Experience in designing and maintaining plant electrical systems is a plus.
