Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Health and Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities for this role include:

Ensuring timely and accurate submission of all required environmental reports to regulatory agencies, as well as maintaining current environmental permits

Providing guidance and overseeing the development, implementation, and documentation of HS&E training for site personnel

Collaborating with safety professionals, internal and external resources to develop and manage programs that enhance employee safety and ensure compliance with regulations

Acting as a liaison with Local, State, and Federal Regulatory Agencies on matters related to safety and environmental compliance and providing interpretation of OSHA and EPA regulations

Coordinating the development of an Annual Safety Plan to improve employee safety, meet regulatory requirements, and control safety-related costs

Promoting employee involvement by forming teams to address specific safety and environmental issues

Supporting internal and external HS&E assessments and reporting related compliance metrics

Implementing and maintaining Corporate HS&E Standards

Participating, coordinating, leading, communicating, and following-up on monthly HS&E Leader conference calls

Ensuring consistency in all personnel practices and actions

Managing and maintaining the site's emergency response program and business continuity plan

Managing employee health programs and worker's compensation for the plant

Managing site security programs and initiatives, including procedures for guards, security systems, cameras, and employee badges

Assisting with training and qualifying site HS&E resources

Assisting with site policy and procedure development, implementation, and enforcement

Working closely with plant leadership to ensure cross-department coordination and collaboration for maximum HS&E results

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree

3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

3 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Environmental or science-related field, engineering, or risk management

Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and regulatory systems

Additional skills and experience that are beneficial for this role:

Engineering degree

Prior experience supporting compliance-related activities

Working knowledge of a High-Performance Organization (HPO) culture and/or employee engagement programs

Food manufacturing experience
