Field Applications Engineer, Connectors

An established manufacturer of interconnect and electronic component solutions, with more than 80 years in the industry, is hiring a Field Applications Engineer to support its West Region territory. This role partners with customers at the engineering level to understand technical requirements and deliver interconnect solutions, while also developing accounts to support the broader regional sales team.

Schedule
Full-time, remote. Candidates should reside in California (preferred), Arizona, or Nevada. Up to 40% travel is required, including periodic industry trade events.

Compensation
$95,000 to $115,000 per year, plus bonus.

What You'll Do
This role is responsible for generating revenue through the solicitation and acquisition of orders within the West Region territory. The engineer will drive sales growth in defined accounts to meet assigned goals, working closely with the regional sales team to identify and mine additional order opportunities in existing accounts. A core part of the role involves developing technical expertise on the company's products and applications, then applying that expertise to communicate sales opportunities and provide ongoing technical support to customers. The position also includes exploring new business opportunities in the pipeline to their fullest potential and representing the company at industry trade events as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing technical customer support
• Minimum 3 years of direct industry experience selling electronic components into medical device or industrial markets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Ability to travel up to 40%
• Must reside in California, Arizona, or Nevada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with connectors or cable assemblies specifically, rather than electronic components generally
• Familiarity with CRM tools for pipeline and account management
• Existing relationships with engineering or procurement contacts in the medical device or industrial sectors
